History

In 1971 the Lions Club of Manly conceived the idea of doing something for the nurses in the Manly area. A committee of Lions & members of the nursing profession was formed in 1972.

The “Nurses Quest” was so successful that by 1977 some $40,000 in scholarships had been allocated.

At the Lions District Convention in 1978 the project was unanimously adopted.

In 1980 the “Quest” became known as the NSW/ACT Nurses Quest raising over $100,000.

A further name change was decided and since then the “Quest” is known as the Lions NSW/ACT Nurses Scholarship Foundation.
